p0f v3 Passive Fingerprint Scanner :)

Friday, January 13th, 2012

What is p0f? :)
P0f is a tool that utilizes an array of sophisticated, purely passive traffic fingerprinting mechanisms to identify the players behind any incidental TCP/IP communications (often as little as a single normal SYN) without interfering in any way. Version 3 is a complete rewrite of the original codebase, incorporating a significant number of improvements to network-level fingerprinting, and introducing the ability to reason about application-level payloads (e.g., HTTP).

[ubuntu/linux]PSAD: Locate Port Scanner :)

Monday, April 12th, 2010

Brief introduction to wiki :D :

The Port Scanning is a technique utlizzata computer to collect information on a computer connected to a network by establishing what ports are listening on a machine.
Literally it means “port scanning” and involves sending connection requests to the target computer (especially TCP packets, UDP and ICMP crafted): processing the answers can be established (also accurately) which network services are active on that computer. A door says “in ascolto” (“listening”) the “open” when there is a service or program that uses the.
The result of a port scan usually falls into one of the following categories:
open (accepted): the host has sent a reply indicating that a service is listening on that port
closed (denied): the host has sent a reply indicating that connections will be refused at the door (ICMP port-unreachable).
blocked / filtered (dropped/filtered): there has been no response from host, then it is likely the presence of a firewall or a network obstacle that blocks access to port preventing the state to identify.
The Port Scanning reveals details that could be used by any attacker to easily prepare a technique aimed at undermining the security of the system, Therefore, much attention is paid to the directors as and when they are made to port scan the computers on their network.

A good system administrator knows that a well-configured firewall allows machines to perform all their tasks, but makes it difficult (if not impossible) port scanning, implementing mechanisms such as selective access based on port knocking.
Some of the programs that allow for different types of port scans is nmap and hping.

I have highlighted the most important part :D
Ubuntu, is now the most widely used Linux distribution for its simplicity and power => debian based :D
So more and more often formed home web server with ubuntu server.

Tuesday, January 19th, 2010

Everything is born, I recommend to evilsocket into using alternative browsers to firefox.

Here his advice:

Evil socket:
@ clshack:
But why hassle with a thousand guides, tricks and stratagems to speed up and lighten up a browser that structurally falling apart ?! (firefox)
And 'slow, deals with many resources, does not pass 100% the acid test, etc. etc. but why use it touches necessarily tell you ?!?!
There are many alternatives more viable and more open.

I said I can not replace firefox for the simple reason that many extensions that I use daily, for google chrome does not exist yet.
Hence the idea, why not create the extensions that we need ?
