SystemRescueCd: la distro live da NON farsi mai MANCARE

Oggi, mettendo un po’ apposto la mia scrivania -.-’ ho trovato un mio vecchio cd linux che mi era stato molto utile per sistemarewindows, anni fa ;)
SystemRescueCD è una distribuzione Linux, una live cd, (oppure USB), utile per riparare sistemi non avviabili e recuperare dati dopo un crash e così via.

Una volta masterizzata l’immagine ISO del CD, avere impostato dal BIOS l’avvio da CD ed avviato il sistema con il CD di SystemRescueCD, dopo aver caricato il kernel ci verrà presentato un prompt dei comandi, per avviare l’interfaccia grafica basta digitare

startx

La 1.40, mentre scrivo, introduce questi cambiamenti:

Updated the standard kernels to linux-2.6.32.9
Updated the alternative kernels to Linux-2.6.27.45
Updated mozilla-firefox to 3.6
Added zfs-fuse-0.6.0 filesystem
Updated fsarchiver to 0.6.8 (fixes archive corruption when saved to smbfs/cifs)
Updated sys-apps/parted to 2.1 (support for devices with sectors > 512 bytes)
New boot option “nbdboot=ip:port” to boot sysresccd from NBD (network block device)
New boot option “nfsboot=ip:/path” to boot sysresccd from NFS (network filesystem)
New boot option “isoloop=xxx” to boot sysresccd from an ISO on the disk with grub2

I tools interni sono:

GNU Parted creates, resizes, moves, copies partitions, and filesystems (and more).
GParted GUI implementation using the GNU Parted library.
Partimage popular opensource disk image software which works at the disk block level
FSArchiver flexible archiver that can be used as both system and data recovery software
File systems tools (for Linux and Windows filesystems): format, resize, and debug an existing partition of a hard disk
Ntfs3g: enables read/write access to MS Windows NTFS partitions.
sfdisk saves / restores partition table (and more).
Test-disk tool to check and undelete partition, supports reiserfs, ntfs, fat32, ext2/3 and many others
Memtest+ to test the memory of your computer (first thing to test when you have a crash or unexpected problems)
Rsync: very-efficient and reliable program that can be used for remote backups.
Network tools (Samba, NFS, ping, nslookup, …) to backup your data across the network
